Tim Walsh has added rising star Rhani Hagan to his Australian Women’s Sevens squad for the 2025/26 HSBC SVNS Series.

The 19-year-old joined the Australia squad on a full-time contract in January following her impressive performances in the Next Gen 7s series and for Australia A in Dubai at the end of 2025.

A proud Quandamooka and Kullilli woman, Hagan starred in regional, state and national competition in touch football, and also took part in the 100m and 200m before she took up rugby three years ago.

Her rapid rise through the ranks included helping Australia to gold at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

At that tournament Hagan scored two tries, including one against Canada in the final.

Tim Walsh, Australia Women’s Sevens coach, said: “Rhani has been on our radar and knocking on the door for a couple years now.

“Her relocation and centralised training here in Sydney will accelerate her development and prepare her for a professional career in rugby.

“With silky skills, athletic pedigree and determination to win, these attributes make her an ideal fit for the program.”

Hagan is immediately available for selection ahead of the HSBC SVNS Series’ upcoming stops in Singapore and Perth.
