Northampton Saints will become the first team in PREM Rugby history to score 100 tries in the regular season if they cross the whitewash at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday.

With a home semi-final already secured, the league leaders have rested several frontline stars for the trip to Harlequins, but it is hard to see them falling one try short of the remarkable milestone given the attacking form that they’ve been in.

Northampton have ran in 99 tries with one round to go, equalling the record that they set for the 24-game regular season in 2021/22 – when they were one of five teams to score 90+ tries – but in seven games fewer.

Defending PREM champions Bath have scored 94 tries this season ahead of the visit of Leicester, and need just three to break the club record for the second season running, despite not seeming to fire on all cylinders since the departure of attack coach Lee Blackett to England.

Saracens, who head to Exeter in a shootout for a place in the play-offs, are the other team to have scored 90 tries this season and the 11th in the history of the competition.
