The 22-year-old starts on the left wing in a backline that contains two uncapped players – Sale Sharks’ Joe Carpenter at full-back and Gloucester centre Seb Atkinson.

There is a further uncapped player in the pack, Bath’s Guy Pepper fresh from a player of the match performance in the Gallagher Premiership, alongside Jack Kenningham and Oscar Beard on the bench for this uncapped fixture.

Pepper will be joined by his victorious Bath team-mates, club captain Ben Spencer and fellow flanker Ted Hill, in the starting XV, while losing Leicester Tigers prop Joe Heyes will run out in the No.3 jersey.

The team will be co-captained by George Ford and Jamie George, with 200 caps between them (101 for George and 99 for Ford). George has returned from briefly being called into the British and Irish Lions camp to start for England ahead of their tour of Argentina and the USA in July.

England head coach Steve Borthwick said: “We’re excited to be playing at Allianz Stadium and to test ourselves against a strong French side,” said Borthwick.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing this young team get out there and show what they’re capable of.

Finally a properly balanced backrow, with an actual no8 playing er….number 8!!.

Like the look of the half backs, both spencer and Ford are class acts, and some pace out wide.

Finally! The same number 8 that started in 3 of Englands 6N matches.

Not a fan of Slade and not keen on Dombrant or Quirke off the bench, would have gone with Beard/Ojomho, Underhill, JVP

JVP currently with the Lions

Very happy with the starting pack. The back-row looks good, hopefully Hill and Pepper take their chance.
