The bi-weekly rugby newspaper Midi-Olympique has reported the 112-test All Black will take up a lucrative deal with a Japanese team following the end of his contract with Racing 92 this year.

The deal is expected to take Carter through to the end of his playing career.

The Robbie Deans-coached Panasonic Wild Knights are one of the Top League’s premier clubs and would be an ideal fit for Carter, having coached the Crusaders whilst Carter was there, although they also have former Wallaby Berrick Barnes on the roster.
