What is WXV 2 Rugby?

The WXV 2 was established in 2023. It is the second of three divisions in the annual WXV competition. A total of six teams play in this standalone competition and qualification is decided by performance in regional tournaments.

First to qualify are the fourth- and fifth-placed teams from the Six Nations. The third spot goes to the fourth-ranked team in the Pacific Four Series. The fourth and fifth slots are filled by the winners of the Asia Rugby Women’s Championship and the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup. Finally, the last spot is determined via a play-off between the sixth-placed Six Nations team and the winner of the Rugby European Women’s Championship.

In 2024, WXV 2 will be contested by Australia, Italy, Japan, Scotland, South Africa and Wales
