2026 WXV Global Series Challenger: Every single fixture and kick-off time

Fixtures and kick-off times have been confirmed for the first-ever WXV Global Series Challenger event in Hong Kong China have been confirmed.

Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground will host the three-week competition contested between the Brazil, Fiji, Hong Kong China, the Netherlands, Samoa and Spain, which forms peer of the newly formatted WXV Global Series.

It has also been confirmed that Mitsubishi Electric have joined the competition as its presenting partner. Across the coming three year cycle ahead of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2029 over 100 Test matches will be played.

September will see the Hong Kong China’s women play on home soil for the first time since 2024.

The WXV Global Series features the world’s 18 top-ranked teams. The top 12 – Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, USA, and Wales – will compete in a home-and-away window cross-regional touring model across September and October. Teams ranked 13-18 in the world will compete in the centralised WXV Global Series Challenger.

The WXV Global Series Challenger has been created to provide meaningful fixtures and support the development of team across the women’s rugby calendar ahead of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2029.

Sally Horrox, Chief of Women’s Rugby, World Rugby commented on the news: “The WXV Global Series Challenger is an exciting new chapter for women’s international rugby, providing more international competition for teams to compete on the global stage.

“We’re delighted that Hong Kong China will host the inaugural tournament and look forward to seeing six teams come together across three weekends of action-packed international rugby as we continue to strengthen the global women’s calendar.”

WXV Global Series Challenger fixtures

Week 1 – Sunday 13 September

  • Spain v Fiji, 5am BST kick-off
  • Hong Kong China v Brazil, 8:30am BST kick-off
  • Netherlands v Samoa, 12pm BST kick-off

Week 2 – Saturday 19 September

  • Samoa v Spain, 5am BST kick-off
  • Fiji v Hong Kong China, 8:30am BST kick-off
  • Brazil v Netherlands, 12pm BST kick-off

Week 3 – Saturday 26 September

  • Fiji v Netherlands, 5am BST kick-off
  • Hong Kong China v Samoa, 8:30am BST kick-off
  • Spain v Brazil, 12pm BST kick-off
