VIDEO: Eddie Jones destroys Oxford student at Q&A while making valid point on rugby's size obsession

By Ian Cameron
Eddie Jones gave a rip roaring performance at the Oxford Union

England head coach Eddie Jones was the guest speaker at Oxford Union this year and he gave the historic talking shop serious value for money.

The Oxford Union has seen of the world’s greatest thinkers, business leaders and public figures come to speak, and the historic platform welcomed Jones to its auspicious halls in May just past, bestowing upon him a unique and prestigious honour.

As you might expect Jones was not shy of making a point, as one unlucky student attending the event was to find out.

The student in fact asks a fair question – is modern rugby more concerned with size and brute force rather than skill. For whatever reason Eddie decided to give the young man in question a bit of a rinsing.

In doing so he tells a depressingly familiar anecdote about a young professional player who was told by the club he signed for that he needed to gain ‘7kgs’, something Jones rails against.

Never change Eddie, never change.
