In 2025/26 the 19-year-old made her international and PWR league debuts. She also represented Great Britain in HSBC SVNS Series competition and Brython Thunder in the Celtic Challenge.

To date Aiono has earned five caps for Wales, which came in the form of five starts in the 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations. Following her breakthrough at Test level Aiono made her full Gloucester Hartpury against Bristol Bears in the club’s final regular season fixture of the season.

Dan Murphy, Gloucester Hartpury head of rugby said: “Jorja is a player we’ve known for a long time through the Hartpury pathway, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see her continue that journey with Gloucester Hartpury.

“She has all the attributes we’re looking for to add to our back five. She’s athletic, works tirelessly around the pitch and has shown real composure in stepping up to international rugby at such a young age. Her performances for Wales this year have demonstrated the quality she possesses, but we also know there’s plenty more to come.

“We’re excited to continue supporting her development in an environment she already knows well. Jorja embodies what our pathway is about, and we’re looking forward to seeing her grow as part of this squad over the coming seasons.”

The 19-year-old from Swansea comes from a rugby playing family. Her Samoan father, Nio, played for a number of clubs across South Wales and her uncle, Afa Aiono, captained Samoa Sevens.

Aiono said: “I’m incredibly proud to be signing with Gloucester Hartpury. Having come through the Hartpury pathway, it feels like the natural next step in my journey and I’m excited to continue developing in an environment that has played such a big role in my career already.

“This season has been really special for me, making my Wales debut and experiencing Premiership Women’s Rugby for the first time. Those opportunities have only made me more motivated to keep improving, and I know Gloucester Hartpury is the best place for me to do that.”
