Jordie Barrett and RG Snyman start in Leinster side for Glasgow
Leinster have named a powerful team for Saturday evening’s Round 18 BKT United Rugby Championship clash with Glasgow Warriors at Aviva Stadium – with Jordie Barrett, RG Snyman and James Ryan all included in the starting XV.
Leinster hammered Glasgow 52-0 last time they visited Dublin in April but Leo Cullen is clearly taking no chances with this visit.
Cullen has made nine changes to the side that ran in 14 tries against Zebre Parma last weekend, opting to recall several front-line players for the visit of the reigning URC champions.
Ryan makes his first Leinster start since January, joining Snyman in the second row in a pack that also features Andrew Porter, Dan Sheehan and Jack Conan, who captains the side from number eight.
Jimmy O’Brien lines out on the left wing for his 99th appearance, with Tommy O’Brien on the right and Hugo Keenan at full-back. Robbie Henshaw starts at outside centre and will be partnered in midfield by Barrett.
Sam Prendergast continues at flyhalf, this time alongside highly-rated academy scrum-half Fintan Gunne.
In the back row, Conan is joined by Ryan Baird and Scott Penny. Ryan returns in the second row alongside Snyman, who was recently named Leinster’s player of the season.
The front row is made up of Porter, Sheehan and Thomas Clarkson.
On the bench, Leinster can call on Rónan Kelleher, Jack Boyle and Tadhg Furlong for front-row cover, with Max Deegan and Academy second row Diarmuid Mangan also among the replacements. Luke McGrath, Ciarán Frawley and Jamie Osborne round out the 23.
