    Hugo Keenan Bio

Born 18 June 1996, Hugo Keenan attended secondary school at Blackrock College. While representing the school team, he won the 2014 Leinster Schools Senior Cup.

After leaving school, Hugo Keenan signed for Leinster and he made his professional debut for the club in 2016. He’s since made more than 70 appearances for the Irish squad, winning multiple Pro14 titles and a European Rugby Champions Cup in this time. He was also a member of Leinster’s 2024-25 United Rugby Championship-winning squad, although he missed the final through injury.

Hugo Keenan has been a star on the international stage for many years. He made his debut for the Ireland U20 team in 2016, before he was called into the Ireland national rugby sevens team camp in 2017. He was then part of the Ireland sevens team during the 2017 Grand Prix Series. He returned to the sport in 2023-24, representing Ireland at the Madrid Grand Final and the Olympics.

Hugo Keenan made his senior Ireland debut in 2020 and has since been capped almost 50 times by his country. In this time he’s won two Six Nations Championships, including a Grand Slam in 2023.

Thanks to his performances for Leinster and Ireland, he was called up to represent the British and Irish Lions in 2025. On the team’s tour of Australia, he played in all three tests as the Lions triumphed 2-1.

Still young and with plenty more to offer for both Ireland and Leinster, we can’t wait to see what Hugo Keenan achieves next.
