Ex-Leicester boss Bundy lands new PWR coaching role
Former Leicester Tigers head coach Ross Bundy has joined Exeter Chiefs as an assistant coach for the 2026/27 season.
The former Scotland U20s forward spent one season in the East Midlands. During his tenure with the club, Leicester did not win a JAECOO Premiership Women’s Rugby game and finished at the foot of the table.
Exeter are currently without a head coach after Steve Salvin’s departure for a full-time role with Sean Lynn’s Wales. A week ago Black Knight Rugby took over Chiefs and the team’s CEO, Tony Rowe CBE, claimed that the new owners are “committed totally” to women’s rugby.
Upon his arrival at Sandy Park, Bundy will be responsible for the forwards and defence. He joins the Exeter coaching ticket alongside backs and attack coach Oli Bishop.
Last season Exeter ended a one-year hiatus from knockout rugby with a top four finish, before coming short against Saracens at the semi-final stage.
Bundy said: “I am really excited to join a club like Exeter Chiefs. It’s a club whose values and playing style really suit me.
“It’s also a club with big goals. I am hoping I can add to what was a great season last year and help the team achieve even more this season.”
Exeter have announced the recruitment of Wales international prop Maisie Davies ahead of next season, along with the impending arrivals of Shya Pinnock from Trailfinders Women and Tilly Ryall from Bristol Bears.
The club have lost the international knowhow of Canada internationals Emily Tuttosi, Sabrina Poulin and Abby Duguid, and former Ireland captain Edel McMahon.
Tony Rowe CBE, Exeter Rugby Group Ltd’s CEO, said: “We look forward to seeing what Ross can do with our talented group of players here at Exeter.
“He will not only bring experience as a forwards coach but also the recruitment and leadership nous that comes with being a head coach.”
