Ex-All Black Clarke Dermody seals job in Ireland
Former All Blacks loosehead Clarke Dermody will join Ulster as forwards coach ahead of next season.
The 46-year-old is currently an assistant coach under Jamie Joseph with the Highlanders in Super Rugby Pacific, having previously operated as head coach for the side.
The three-cap All Black will replace Jimmy Duffy at the Affidea Stadium.
Duffy has spent the last two seasons with Ulster, but can bow out with silverware with Ulster facing Montpellier in the Challenge Cup final on Friday in Bilbao.
Dermody’s Highlanders, meanwhile, are languishing in eighth place in Super Rugby Pacific this season.
“While we are sad to say goodbye to Jimmy Duffy who is moving on, as a coaching team we are very excited to be welcoming Clarke to Ulster this summer,” said Ulster head coach Richie Murphy.
“He is an experienced coach, with a strong track record of developing top talent. We are looking forward to seeing him implement his methods and philosophy with our squad next season.”
