The summer of international rugby starts with a bang in Vannes on Friday night, as France and England XVs stacked with talent go head to head in what amounts to a Test match in all but name.

Serving as a final trial before the start of the inaugural Nations Championship, the clash between two of rugby’s fiercest rivals has no end of storylines.

From an England perspective, all eyes will be on Saracens sensation Noah Caluori as he looks to put the icing on a superb domestic season, which ended with him being the Prem’s top try scorer with 18, while Bath centre Max Ojomoh will be determined to show his Guinness Men’s Nations snub was unjustified.

Benhard Janse van Rensburg, who’s moved ahead of Ojomoh in the midfield pecking order after becoming eligible to play for England, is on the bench.

France have named the super-experienced Gaël Fickou as captain, with Nolann Le Garrec and Antoine Hastoy at half-back, and Émilien Gailleton in midfield. Théo Attissogbe starts at full-back, while Leinster tighthead Rabah Slimani, Julien Barlot and Thomas Erdocio anchor the front row.

Given what happened when the countries last came together in the final round of the Guinness Men’s Six Nations, when France won 48-46 with a last-gap penalty, it promises to be an entertaining watch.

And the good news for fans is that the match is available to watch globally, other than in France, via RugbyPass TV.

Silly article. Really low level journalism, and I truly don’t like being rude.

This is NOT the team. This is a mix between the team last year that was picked for this fixture and then randomly Marchand is at 16. Who is Giorgi Mallez? A mix between Giorgi Beria and Paul Mallez.

Come on RugbyPass, you can do better!

That’s very embarrassing indeed… Has the IA gone rogue on this one?

I think it’s confused Guillaume Marchand with his brother Julien (who played last year at Twickenham).

The first names are a festival :

-Henco Van Wyk van Tonder? Jacobus van Tonder.

-Louis Moustin ? Maël Moustin.

-Filipo Duguivalu? Alivereti Duguivalu

-Thomas Erdocio? Baptiste Erdocio.

-Thomas Duguid? Tyler Duguid.

The Giorgi Mallez really killed me…

With a few Racing 92 and Montpellier players, who’ll be playing the Top 14 semis…

@RugbyPass the team hasn’t been announced yet.
