Saracens star, England international and a British and Irish Lion – Mako Vunipola’s qualities as a rugby player are not in doubt.

But the skills of a rugby player do not naturally lend themselves to the art of diving, particularly those of a loosehead prop.

And Vunipola emphatically proved that point when he bravely launched himself from a springboard, completing one full rotation before landing face first on the water.

Saracens shared the moment on Twitter for all the world to enjoy…

Somewhat more graceful was this effort earlier in the week. Passing practice on the diving boards!

Six Nations statement: Tom Curry 'Tunnelgate' incident

You use the term, which I quite like, bleating Springbok, quite a rare sound in nature compared to the Winging Poms, a sound so common it makes me think of Heathrow Airport.

When I think of cards or the lack of them in a rugby match, the name that comes to mind is Owen Farrell, even when he got them there was always mitigating reasons found by theRFB to get him back in the English team as soon as possible.

I actually thought Tuipulotu did very well off the bench last night. Is much more convincing than Dan Frost but could still tighten up his line out accuracy (which comes with time).

I hope we start seeing him more off the bench for the rest of the season. I think he has the potential to be an outstanding player for Bath.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement is it? We made it through Covid, increased prices to raise revenue, brought in a coach (JS) that put us 1 point away from a RWC final and then put in a new coaching team that has taken us further away.

Another Lions goes down with an innocuous injury and racks up further injuries for ENG. It’s a frightening number how many AUS, IRE & ENG players have gone down with injuries since the Lions tour.

It will be an interesting call if Bath pick Griffin or Sela to replace Stuart on the bench. Close call, Griffin is possibly better in the scrum but Sela does more around the park.

Very unfortunate for Stuart, but big opportunity for Heyes to prove he’s the starting 3 on merit.

I guess everyone will expect Fasogbon to be brought into the 6N, but Sela is now set for a good run of games for Bath and I wouldn’t be surprised if he leapfrogs Fasogbon.

I have no affiliation with any team in the European cup but I enjoy watching the games.

Having said that, the commentators on the Premier Sports feed I use to watch games here in Thailand were an embarrassment to themselves and the game. The unjustified bias in favour of the English team was palpable.

I get your argument, but I am not sure I agree. Plum played for the sharks for 10 years - probably beyond 80% of his fine playing career - and won the Currie Cup twice as a player.

He then won the Currie Cup 3 more times as a coach. More impressively, his first win as coach was in his first season in 2008, where he was appointed as a bit of a hail-mary, with the Sharks last winning the cup in Plum's own playing days way back in 1996. That's a long dry-spell. For the achievement, he won coach-of-the-year in SA. He does understand SA rugby's DNA, plus his international experience, which is only a benefit. He himself was a particularly abrasive player and great to watch.
