Tickets for the Crusaders’ qualifying final against the Blues at One New Zealand Stadium this weekend went on sale at 10 am on Tuesday morning, and were gone just 20 minutes later.

The 25,000-seat stadium has now sold out each of the five Crusaders games it has hosted, as well as the four further games held there during Super Round.

The Crusaders announced that the general-release ticket allocation had been exhausted at 10:48, adding that any unclaimed member or commercial partner tickets would become available at 5 pm.

The defending champions only claimed the right to host a home qualifying final in the final round of the regular season, with their 47-14 win over a rotated Hurricanes team and the Blues’ ensuing 59-34 loss to the Chiefs in Hamilton seeing them switch places with the Aucklanders on the standings.

Following the win, Crusaders coach Rob Penney said: “It would be lovely to have just one more game, at least, here in the new stadium, and give the people a chance to come back again.”

The Christchurch-based club have never lost a home playoff game and is yet to lose at their new home venue.

The Crusaders and Blues have a storied rivalry, with recent playoff results including two semi-final meetings and the 2022 final, all of which were won by the Crusaders.

Penney’s injury update following the Hurricanes game spelled good news for Tahlor Cahill and potentially Braydon Ennor. Cullen Grace and Maloni Kunawave are both listed as on the cusp of returning, while the news isn’t so positive for George Bell, who is expected to remain sidelined for the qualifying final. Fellow All Blacks Scott Barrett, Tamaiti Williams and Will Jordan have all been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
