Ross Bundy has left his role as Leicester Tigers head coach after one season with the Premiership Women’s Rugby club.

During his time in charge of the East Midlanders, Leicester did not register a single league victory in the English top flight.

Tigers registered their first point of the season in Round 6 of the 2025/26 season when they scored four tries against Harlequins at Mattioli Woods Welford Road in early December.

Bundy was appointed head coach after a period as forwards and breackdown coach with Edinburgh Rugby Women in the Celtic Challenge and as head coach of Dutch side Rotterdam Rugby.

Bundy said: “It was a difficult decision to step away but the lessons, experiences and memories from this year, both on and off the pitch, will stay with me throughout the rest of my coaching career.

“I’m proud to leave the programme in a stronger place than when I arrived, with solid foundations now in place for the future.”

Ahead of the 2025/26 season Leicester had prioritised the development of domestic players and had recruited numerous players from women’s club rugby. Additionally, Tigers operated a U23 Development Squad in collaboration with the University of Nottingham.

During the in season break for the Guinness Women’s Six Nations, the club announced that their women’s team had agreed an “enhanced strategy for growth, additional investment and commitment to the club” as the team struggled to compete in the competition.

It has already been announced that Australia internationals Caitlyn Halse and Tabua Tuinakauvadra will call Mattioli Woods Welford Road home for the 2026/27 JAECOO PWR season.

The club have also recruited France international Coco Lindelauf and Wales international forward Abbie Fleming, who recently departed Harlequins.

Fraser Goatcher, Director of Women’s Rugby, said: “Ross’ contributions have been massive for the programme.”
