Bristol Bears have confirmed the retention of club stalwarts Rownita Marston-Mulhearn, Holly Phillips and Jenny Herring ahead of the 2026/27 season.

All three have been long-term contributors at Shaftesbury Park for the Premiership Women’s Rugby club.

They join Demelza Short, Delaney Burns, Christiana Balogun, Evie Gallagher, Meryl Smith, Hollie Cunningham, Simi Pam and Lana Skeldon in having committed their future to Scott Lawson’s team.

For Marston-Mulhearn, next season will be her 11th season with Bears. Since her debut, the combative No.8 has forged a reputation as a formidable ball carrier.

The 28-year-old, who has made two appearances for England, recently returned from an ACL injury sustained last year.

Marston-Mulhearn said: “I’m so happy to be able to pull on the shirt for my 11th season! This club has supported me so much in my career but even more in the past season while going through ACL rehab.

“Without the medical team, coaches, teammates and fans I wouldn’t have been able to return when I did. So a huge thank you to everyone for backing me and supporting me!

“Playing for Bears is always a privilege. Bears is my home, and I love being a one-club woman. Whether we are winning, losing or drawing, there is no huddle I’d rather be in. I cannot wait to see what next season has in store!”

Canada international Holly Phillips, who joined Bears in 2020, has had an injury disrupted 2025/26 campaign. The versatile front-row – who can play hooker and tighthead prop – made her Test debut last July against South Africa.

Phillips said: “I’m really pleased to be staying at Bears. From the moment I arrived I’ve felt welcomed by the players and staff, and it’s a club that has quickly become home for me. I’m excited about the direction we’re heading in and can’t wait to get stuck into another season with this group.”

Back-row forward Jenny Herring has made 10 appearances for Bristol this season and become a key figure under head coach Lawson.

Herring said: “I’m delighted to be re-signing. This club has helped me grow a huge amount and I’ve really enjoyed being part of the journey. The environment we have here pushes everyone to improve every day and I’m looking forward to continuing to contribute to the team.”
