Watch: Welsh players attempt to translate South African slang

Alun Wyn Jones tries his hand at Africaans

With the Autumn Internationals drawing to a close, we await the final hurrah from two teams who seem to be eternally underwhelming at this time of year.

Wales sole victory thus far, a seven-point win over Georgia, while the Springboks, on the other hand, have beaten France and Italy.

However, the French victory seems slightly negated by the fact that the French then went and drew with Japan and prior to last year, you would have expected the Springboks to beat Italy any day of the week.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Wales seem confident that both Rhys Webb and Scott Williams will be fit to take part having been doubtful at the beginning of the week.

Hopefully a lot more confident than they were when trying to translate these South African slang terms into English.

How’s your knowledge of South African slang?

Ours isn’t great either but it’s a lot better than this poor showing from Alun Wyn Jones, which was frankly ‘kak’.
