Saracens 79-5 Leicester Tigers

Saracens made it three wins from their last three with another impressive performance at StoneX Stadium.

The tries began as Wales prop Donna Rose went over after just four minutes. Amelia MacDougall then extended the home side’s advantage before Bryony Field and Rose both added to the score board through their destructive driving maul. And before the half was out, Julia Omokhuale’s close-range effort gave her side a 29-0 lead at the break.

Soon after the second half whistle Saracens had reached the half century mark, Tori Sellors crossing over from close range before Liz Crake and Poppy Cleall added to the points tally.

Cleall secured two further tries to earn herself a hat-trick with Sarah McKenna, Beth Blacklock and Olivia Apps also helping themselves to scores.

Gloucester Hartpury 40-24 Sale Sharks

It was obvious Sale Sharks had come to Kingsholm not to make up the numbers but with intent.

The visitors made a fast start with Erica Jarrell-Searcy finding the white wash after a driving maul after only three minutes. Holly Aitchison added the extras, but the three-time defending champions answered back.

Rachel Lund was first to cross over for the Circus before Alex Matthews added her name to proceedings with both tries converted by Lleucu George.

Sisilia Tuipulotu then found a gap in Sale’s defence to score just before the half hour mark but before half-time Nikita Prothero gave Sale some hope by scoring in the corner.

Gloucester did not allow Sale the same fast start they’d had in the previous half as Lund scored two quick-fire tries to complete her hattrick.

Neve Jones then added a seventh try before Shona Campbell and Charlotte Fray closed the gap late on for Sale, but Gloucester held on to claim the win.

Trailfinders 45-19 Bristol Bears

In a high scoring game Trailfinders Women recorded their second victory of the season at Trailfinders Sports Club. The home side landed the first score with eight minutes on the clock as captain Rachel Malcolm found her way over the try line before hooker Georgia Ponsonby powered over to extend the hosts’ advantage.

However, two converted tries in nine minutes for Bristol meant it was all to play for. Simi Pam was first to crash over for the West Country side followed by Sarah Bern, with Keira Bevan faultless off the tee.

But momentum then swung back the way of Trailfinders as Grace White crossed over in the corner before Alana Borland burst through Bristol’s defence to secure a bonus point with the score 24-14 at the break.

Fellow Black Fern Ponsonby bagged her second try 11 minutes into the second 40, but Evie Gallagher hit back to keep Bristol within sight. However, Trailfinders quashed any hopes of a Bristol comeback through two further converted tries.

White was the recipient of a cross-field kick from Meg Jones before Emma Taylor crossed the whitewash to add the icing on the cake for the home side.

Exeter Chiefs 26-19 Harlequins

Exeter Chiefs withstood a second-half Harlequins fightback with a spirited win at Sandy Park.

One might have thought the game was over at half time with Chiefs going into the break with a 19-0 advantage but Harlequins showed their fight to come back to London with a point.

First-half tries from Chiefs’ Alex Tessier, Maisy Allen and Emily Tuttosi saw the hosts make full use of their impressive maul.

Quins came out roaring after the break with new recruit Liana Mikaele-Tu’u going over five minutes after the restart and Ellie Kildunne then cutting her way through the Chiefs defence to reduce the deficit to seven but the crucial blow came through Flo Robinson ten minutes from time to seal the bonus point in front of home support.

Sara Svoboda crashed over three minutes from time but it was only enough for a losing bonus point for the women in quarters.
