Holly Aitchison Bio

Born on 13 September 1997, Holly Aitchison is the daughter of former England Saxon and rugby coach Ian Aitchison.

Growing up, Holly Aitchison played for Waterloo Ladies as a junior, as well as Gloucester-Hartpury and Lichfield Ladies. She excelled at the sport from a young age, winning the U18 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens title twice. She was also a member of the squad that lifted the Challenge Trophy at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens.

In 2020, Holly Aitchison’s senior career began with Saracens Women. She stayed with the club until 2023, when she signed for Bristol Bears. From the 2025-26 season onwards, she’ll represent Sale Sharks.

Although Holly Aitchison has enjoyed a stellar domestic career, she’s perhaps best known for her performances on the international stage (both in sevens and XVs). After all, Aitchison has played international representative rugby for England or Great Britain at the World Cup, Olympic Games and Six Nations Championships.

No matter what the format, Aitchison has excelled. She made her XV-a-side debut in 2021 and has never looked back.

Now considered a key member of the Red Roses squad, Aitchison played a key role for England during their triumph in Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. She played an essential role in their quarter-final, semi-final and final victories.

Still young and with the world at her feet, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Holly Aitchison.
