The south-west Londoners are set to say farewell to three of the members of their 2021 PREM title-winning squad after Saturday’s final game of the season at home to Northampton.

As previously announced, former captain and league winner Stephan Lewies will depart after making 88 appearances across seven seasons in the Quarters, having decided to return home to South Africa with the Sharks.

No.8 Tom Lawday, a veteran of 104 games, is also moving on, with his destination not yet none, and the same applies to prop Jordan Els, who has made 54 appearances.

Wales fly-half Jarrod Evans’ has long been tipped to be heading home to Wales, with Cardiff, now that his contract is not being renewed, while fellow fly-half Jamie Benson is also off to the URC, with a move to Ulster signed and sealed.

Hookers George Turner (Newcastle) and Jack Doorey-Palmer (Leicester) are also on the list, along with scrum-half Max Green, and the soon-to-be-retired ex-England lock Joe Launchbury.

Prop Joe Jones, who is off to Worcester, and scrum-half Jack Grant will also leave The Stoop after joining mid-season as short-term cover.

“This point in the season is always emotional and can be difficult, because it gives us the opportunity to recognise and thank players who have made a huge contribution to Harlequins during their time at the club,” said head coach Jason Gilmore.

“Each of these players has represented Quins with commitment, professionalism and pride, giving everything for the jersey and for their teammates. They should all be incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved and the impact they’ve had on and off the field.

“We’ll come together as a group to celebrate and thank our departing players, and supporters will also have the chance to say their goodbyes at The Stoop on Saturday (06 June) following our fixture against Northampton Saints.”
