'Odd...unusal': Many make same point over 'baffling' Ireland call in Tbilisi

“But with public scrutiny intensifying, a start against Portugal is surely a given. Surely?”

Public scrutiny (posts on X in this case) should not be the basis for International rugby selection decisions.

Prendergast was controlling the match well and making his kicks which he hasnt been for a long time. No issue leaving him on.

Re Crowley, IMO opinion he was deservedly dropped after NZ when it was clear he was not improving or working on his weakness (kicking out of hand). The emergence of Prendergast has been a boost for Crowley’s performances and improvement and with him committing to Munster I think he is deserving of a start against Portugal to see what the Casey/Crowley combo can do.
