New Zealand isn’t the only country stocking up on sevens talent as Australia’s Super Rugby Pacific clubs look to end their decade-long title drought.

10 former Australian Sevens men are set to lace up in Super Rugby Pacific season 2026, headlined by current Wallabies Corey Toole and Dylan Pietsch.

The wing duo cut their teeth on the HSBC SVNS Series – with Toole named Rookie of the Year in the 2021/22 edition – and will add their speed and power to the ACT Brumbies and Western Force respectively.

Pietsch will be joined by 2023/24 Series standout Darby Lancaster, who has signed a one-year contract with the Force for 2026 despite interest from the Newcastle Red Bulls.

Max Burey is another sevens alumni to watch out west following his eye-catching Super Rugby Australia campaign and is set to push 19-Test playmaker Ben Donaldson for the starting fly-half role.

Back in Canberra, Toole has company in fellow outside back and Brumbies Indigenous Pathways graduate Kye Oates, who earned a full-time Super Rugby Pacific contract three years on from his Hong Kong Sevens debut in 2022.

In Sydney, the NSW Waratahs will call upon three former sevens flyers in Teddy Wilson, Triston Reilly and Sid Harvey, who earned his first senior contract following a stellar season across the HSBC SVNS Series, Junior World Championship and Super Rugby Australia.

Finally, the Queensland Reds have a pair of seasoned sevens heads in Lachie Anderson and Tate McDermott.

A Tokyo Olympian, Anderson quickly became a staple in Les Kiss’ backline following last year’s shift from the now-defunct Melbourne Rebels, while McDermott is recovering from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of Australia’s Northern Tour.

There’s still a healthy Super Rugby flavour to the Australian Sevens Men with new signings Harry Wilson (NSW Waratahs) and Will Cartwright (Queensland Reds) on the books.

Wilson earned 14 Waratahs caps before signing with Welsh outfit Dragons while Cartwright shot to prominence with Queensland Premier Rugby powerhouse Brothers and made his Reds debut against Wales in 2024.
