Trailfinders Women continue their Scotland international signings
Trailfinders Women continue their remarkable summer signings announcements with the addition of further world class talent to their ranks.
Scotland captain Rachel Malcolm is the next player to put pen to paper for the PWR club who only on Wednesday announced the signing of World Cup winning Black Fern Alana Borland (née Bremner).
Malcolm made her Scotland debut in a 2016 Rugby World Cup qualifier against Spain, before earning her first start in the 2017 Six Nations, and has gone on to register over half a century of appearances for her country, captaining the side since 2020.
Malcolm joins the club from Loughborough Lightning having represented the East Midlands side since their inaugural Premier 15s season in 2017/18.
Malcolm said: “I’m super excited for a new experience down in London. This move had to be right for me as a person as well as a rugby player. I wanted to go somewhere where I can challenge myself and strive to be the best player I can be.
“The exciting group of players that have been put together is one I’m excited to learn from, and hopefully one that I can add too as well.”
Barney Maddison, Trailfinders Head Coach, added: “Rachel brings immense leadership, experience, and a tireless work ethic. She is a fantastic addition to our squad, and we are excited to see the impact she will have.”
Other Trailfinders signings this season include: Alana Borland (née Bremner), Francesca McGhie, Megan Jones and Claire Gallagher.
New tickets for Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 are now available, with prices starting at £10 for adults and £5 for children. Buy now!
Apparently there are discussions with PWR and the RFU about a combined British and Irish league, I think this would suit all parties.

)n a quick count more then half their squad are non-England qualified with some high profile internationals included.
The concern must be that Trailfinders are signing too many non-Red Roses qualified players that will not will not all be able to play at the back end of the season.
