The versatile 23-year-old spent part of the 2024/25 season with Harlequins, making two appearances before her release, and starred for the Oranje at WXV Global Series Challenger 2026 in Hong Kong.

At Kai Tak Sports Ground, Prins and her teammates finished second in the six-team tournament at Kai Tak Sports Ground. Fiji claimed the title with a last-gasp penalty on the final day.

In her three appearances, she made 51 tackles, carried the ball 19 times for 62 metres and stole two lineouts.

Barney Maddison, Trailfinders Women head coach said: “Isa is a dynamic forward that gives us great options in both the second and back-row.

“Her versatility is something that will benefit the squad massively and we can’t wait to have her in training with the team coming off the back of what has been a very successful WXV Global Series [Challenger] for Isa with the Netherlands.”

Prins is the latest arrival at Trailfinders ahead of the 2026/27 league season getting underway. Maddison has recruited Women’s Rugby World Cup winner Ruby Tui, England international Bo Westcombe-Evans and Scotland playmaker Helen Nelson.

The recruitment of the 23-year-old Netherlands back-row came shortly after Canada international Laetitia Royer signed for the West London club.

In her first PWR season, Royer made 10 appearances for Saracens as the North London side lifted silverware in the league final at the Twickenham Stoop.

A member of the 2024 World Rugby Women’s 15s Dream Team of the Year, the 35-year-old made four appearances at Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 as Canada finished as runners-up in the tournament.

So far in WXV Global Series, she started at lock forward in all three of her team’s September fixtures. Those outings included a win against Scotland, a draw with England and a loss to France.

Maddison said: “Laetitia is a fantastic player and we’re delighted to have been able to acquire her. She’s currently showing her quality in the ongoing WXV Global Series and we’ve seen firsthand what she can do in the PWR.”
