The Rugby Awards 2026: Apps, Muir, Pena and Sing nominated for top PWR prize

Nominees for The Rugby Awards 2026, presented by Gallagher, have been revealed.

Olivia Apps, Maud Muir, Clàudia Peña and Emma Sing have all been nominated for Premiership Women’s Rugby Player of the Season, presented by Canterbury, for their efforts this season.

In her first season playing regular 15-a-side rugby, Apps has helped Saracens to second in the league table and helped the North Londoners secure a home semi-final.

Elsewhere the top Directors of Rugby have been nominated, while Niamh Gallagher, Haineala Lutui, Carmela Morrall and Sarah Parry have been nominated for the PWR Breakthrough Player of the Season, presented by The British Army.

Amy Cokayne, Zoe Harrison, Megan Jones and Sadia Kabeya have all been nominated for England Women’s Player of the Season.

For the second year Premiership Women’s Rugby [PWR], PREM Rugby, Rugby Players’ Association and England Rugby have joined forces to celebrate the best of English club rugby on Wednesday 10 June at Old Billingsgate.

This year TNT Sports and HBO Max will broadcast the event for the first time. The Awards will be hosted by Craig Doyle and Emma Dodds, while former Saracens and Bath Rugby prop David Flatman will be a roving reporter.

The winners of the PWR Player of the Season, presented by Canterbury and PWR Breakthrough Player of the Season, presented by The British Army, will be determined by a vote of PWR Rugby players.

PWR Director of Rugby of the Season, presented by Gallagher

  • Alex Austerberry (Saracens)
  • Tom Hudson (Sale Sharks)
  • Barney Maddison (Trailfinders Women)
  • Dan Murphy (Gloucester Hartpury)

The shortlists for the above PWR awards, and the winner of Director of Rugby of the Season, were chosen by a panel consisting of Susie Appleby (PWR Commentator), Rachael Burford (RPA), Sarah Hunter (Red Roses Defence Coach), Sara Orchard (BBC), Clare Tweed (PWR), Katie Vince (PWR), and Jack Zorab (PWR Commentator), chaired by Nick Heath (PWR Commentator).

PWR Try of the Season, presented by TNT Sports

  • Shona Campbell (Sale Sharks) – Round 9 v Bristol Bears
  • Maud Muir (Gloucester Hartpury) – Round 11 v Harlequins
  • Tori Sellors (Saracens) – Round 12 v Exeter Chiefs
  • Emma Hardy (Saracens) – Round 14 v Gloucester Hartpury

The shortlist, selected by the media panel, will be finalised following the conclusion of PWR Round 18 on Sunday, June 7.

The winner will be determined by a public vote, closing on Tuesday, June 9.
