Scotland player ratings vs England | Women’s Six Nations 2026

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND - APRIL 18: Sadia Kabeya of England scores her team's tenth try during the Women's Guinness Six Nations 2026 match between Scotland and England at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on April 18, 2026 in Edinburgh, Scotland. A historic day for Scotland’s women and a record crowd at Murrayfield, but it was the Red Roses of England who were the stars of the show on the pitch.

The game as a contest was done by half-time with England 35-7 up and Scotland’s defence was passive, albeit versus a strong attack.

The one-way traffic continued in the second half and the review will not be pretty for the Scots – in fact it will be very ugly – after it finished 84-7.

Here are how the players rated against England.

15. Chloe Rollie – 4

A quiet start until she took Helen Nelson’s chip ahead and fed Rhona Lloyd for a first-half try. Never got the ball in hand after that and spent the day watching English players running past her for try after try.

14. Rhona Lloyd – 4

Was caught defending very narrow when Ellie Kildunne scored her second try – and England’s third – in the 23rd minute, but she a good try of her own. It was her 30th for her country and she is now ahead of Donna Kennedy (29) and up to second in the Scottish scoring list. Lucy Millard is top of that list on 37.

13. Evie Wills – 4

Was solid enough defensively in the first half on what was only her second start for her country and her 10th cap in total, but did not get a chance to get going in attack. Her afternoon was then ended just two minutes into the second half when she suffered what looked like a shoulder injury.

12. Meryl Smith – 4

Was shrugged off by the rampaging England No.8 Maddie Feaunati as she set up the first try for the visitors and that summed up Meryl Smith’s day. Likes to be the playmaker when her side is on the front foot, but had to defend all day and found that hard.

11. Shona Campbell – 4

Scored her first try for her country against Wales last week and went looking for work again here, but there was not much work to find. It really was not a day to be a Scotland winger.

10. Helen Nelson – 3

A mixed start to the game with a few kicks that did not quite go right, but a lovely chip set up the first half try for Rhona Lloyd. The second half was tough too and after a player of the match showing versus Wales this was the complete opposite.

9. Leia Brebner-Holden – 4

Went off in the 14th minute for an HIA before returning 10 minutes later. England’s ruck speed was sensational while the ball that Brebner-Holden was getting was a lot slower and scrappier. As a nine that is always difficult.

1. Leah Bartlett – 4

Won an important penalty just after England went 14-0 up at scrum-time, but got a telling off soon after. In fact, she and England number three Maud Muir were told off a few times and had a decent battle until they were both replaced in the second half.

2. Lana Skeldon – 4

Did not manage to connect with Emma Wassell in a lineout just after England had made it 21-0 and, although this will have been a very proud day for the 86-capper, it was not one of her best performances. Later on was playing in the back-row as Scotland were stretched.

3. Elliann Clarke – 5

Was used a lot as a carrying option early on and, into the second half, she also found a second wind and was carrying well. However, when your opposite number Maud Muir is making yards seemingly at ease her work was not quite as noticeable.

4. Hollie Cunningham – 4

Could not stop Kelsey Clifford when she went over for England’s bonus point try. This was just a fourth cap for the Bristol Bear and she was not as dominant as she would have liked in the 48 minutes she was on the pitch.

5. Emma Wassell – 5

We all know what Emma Wassell has been through over the last couple of years and if you want a ‘100 percenter’ in your side she is that. Like last week against Wales, she tackled until the last minute, but, as with all of her pack mates, England more than had their number here.

6. Rachel Malcolm – 5

A dead leg suffered in round one against Wales caused her some issues, but she is a battler and the skipper was never going to go off in such a big game. She will be disappointed that her side were dominated physically in such a big game, but she tried to keep her troops spirits as high as they could be when on the back foot.

7. Alex Stewart – 4

Was penalised in the 31st minute for not rolling away and, from that penalty, England’s fourth try came from Kelsey Clifford. She is usually a nuisance at the breakdown and likes to cause a bit of mischief in that area, but England did not give Scotland a sniff.

8. Emily Coubrough – 5

A brilliant carry almost from the first kick-off got the home support off their seats and this is a young player with a big future. This was just the second cap for the 19-year-old and she will learn from this experience against the best team in the world. Lots of Biggar members from the club she grew up were here watching.
