Lienert-Brown cops four week ban
Highlanders prop Daniel Lienert-Brown has received a four-week ban following the 45-28 loss to the Hurricanes in Wellington.
Lienert-Brown was red carded in just the seventh minute in the capital for a rising tackle on Hurricanes flanker Devan Flanders, which the judiciary found him guilty of a dangerous tackle under Law 9.13.
Flanders is set to miss this weekend’s clash against the Crusaders under return to play protocols after being removed from the field of play.
Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) determined that the foul play merited a mid-range entry point of six weeks, which was mitigated down to four after consideration of his previous record and admission of guilt.
The four-game suspension will carry over after the Super Rugby season with the Highlanders on a bye week in the final regular season round.
They are not currently in the hunt for a playoff spot with a record of 5-9 and 24 competition points.
