Well this is testament to the fact that stats do not tell the full story. In reality, the ABs could not handle the intensity, not helped by having Taylor sent off at a crucial time. Key also is that our two key playmakers left the field at about this time too. Indeed losing one key member of your spine is bad, losing three (including Taylor) is a disaster - especially Roigard. Rudderless, the good ship AB got swamped. But all the talk that the ABs are now crap and England are gold now is over the top. Perhaps the one thing the stats help with is bringing a little objectivity. Basic parity at scrum (and all the hype from NBs post missed the basic fact that ABs only lost one scrum while there were 8 forwards on the paddock) similar turnovers %, tackle %, and ABs more post contact metres gained and clearly superior line out. England superior line breaks and more penalties. But query how many of them occurred when ABs one man down and without both key playmakers.

Not good enough All Blacks. Plenty of opportunities not taken. And Razor, the defense has never been good. We’ve been lucky from good individual efforts in scramble. Needs work. Ruben Love for 10 against Wales.
