Described by her club as a ‘barnstorming prop’, Hope Rogers currently plays for the United States women’s rugby union team and Exeter Chiefs Women. She made her international debut in 2013 and made her first rugby sevens appearance in 2017.
Born on 7 January 1993, Hope Rogers started playing rugby in 2009 when she was a sophomore at high school. Her talent was quickly spotted and she joined the Mid-Atlantic All Star-Team within a year. She contested the U19 National All-Star Championship in 2009 and captained her team to victory during the 2010 tournament.
As the recipient of the Kevin Higgins College Scholarship, Rogers attended Penn State University in 2011. Just two years later, she made her first international appearance for the United States in a match against France. Additionally, she won two MVP awards while at Penn State.
Hope Rogers continued to impress and, by 2017, she was named in the squad that competed at the Rugby World Cup. In the same year, Rogers debuted for the United States Sevens team during the 2017 Sydney Women’s Sevens.
Fast forward to 2022 and Rogers embarked on her club career. She signed with the Exeter Chiefs and competed in the 2021-22 Premiership, where she scored seven tries during the season and started in the final. Her performances in the competition ultimately led to her being included in the 2021-22 Premier 15s Team of the Year.
In addition to the Premiership, Rogers was selected to represent the United States at the 2021 Rugby World Cup. She also played at the 2022 Pacific Four Series and scored a try in America’s 16-14 win against Australia.
Hope Rogers always delivers in the big games. We’re excited to see what she achieves next.
