George Martin Bio

Born on 18 June 2001, George Martin was born in Nottingham and grew up in Loughborough. He took to rugby at a young age and represented England at U16 level and U18 level. He was also an integral part of the Leicester Tigers U18s team that won two successive league titles.

George Martin signed his first professional contract with Leicester Tigers in July 2019. He then made his professional debut for the side only two months later. Aside from a brief spell on loan with Leicester Tigers in 2019, he’s represented the English giants ever since.

Since, he’s become an integral member of the side. He played an important role in the Premiership final in 2021-22, as he performed the penultimate carry before Freddie Burns' 80th-minute, match-winning drop goal.

Thanks to his excellent performances for Leicester Tigers, George Martin made his England debut in March 2021. He’s since become a regular in squads and represented England at the Rugby World Cup in 2023.

Still young and with many of his best years ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what else George Martin can achieve for England and Leicester Tigers.
