A new spirit of collaboration is sweeping through Rugby Canada with the hope it will net long term rewards.
Named Player of the Match during a pool-stage victory over the USA at the 2021 Rugby World Cup, Alysha Corrigan is a skillful Canadian centre. She currently plays for the Canada women’s rugby union team and Saracens Women.
Born on 25 January 1997 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Alysha Corrigan attended the University of Prince Edward Island, where she represented the university’s rugby team. She took the next step in her club career in 2021, when it was confirmed that she had joined Saracens in the Premier 15s.
Described by Saracens as a player who has a ‘strong attacking game and pace’, Corrigan has become a crucial member of the team. Additionally, she is known as a fierce player on the international stage.
She debuted for Canada in 2018, when she played on the wing during a game against Scotland. She then put in several impressive performances for her side at the 2021 Rugby World Cup. During the tournament, she was named Player of the Match for her gameplay during Canada’s 29-14 victory against the United States. She also scored a try during her side’s semi-final defeat against England.
With her contract renewed at Saracens and many more international caps to come, we’re sure the talented Alysha Corrigan will enjoy a very exciting rugby career.
