France have piled on 30 consecutive points to run down the Wallabies, who wilted in Brisbane for a sixth-straight Test loss.

The back-to-back Six Nations champions gave up a 21-12 halftime lead at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday before hitting top gear in a 42-26 win that got messy for the hosts in the final 20 minutes.

It followed a two-point loss to world No.3 Ireland a week ago, when they also led by 12 points, and marked Australia’s first six-game losing streak in 10 years and ninth loss from their last 10 Tests.

Fraser McReight, as part of an inspired back row scored twice and saved another try in a brilliant first half, while fullback Tom Wright twice kicked 50-22s to give his side momentum.

The hosts pounced with two tries as former Brisbane club rugby junior Emmanuel Meafou, who scored the game’s first five-pointer, was serving 10 minutes in the sin bin for a high shot.

Up 21-12, Australia showed pluck to turn around several French raids to begin the second half.

But, after captain Maxime Lucu slotted a penalty, the floodgates opened.

Wright was yellow-carded for a professional foul before Aaron Grandidier-Nkanang scored his second.

They crossed twice more with Wright off the field to effectively ice the game with almost 20 minutes still to play.

Jeremy Williams ended the French run of points with a consolation try with four minutes remaining.

Hooker Brandon Paenga-Amosa was the Wallabies’ first tryscorer, replacing concussed No.2 Josh Nasser in just the third minute.

Debutant flyhalf Declan Meredith and halfback Ryan Lonergan were replaced just before the hour mark, but Jock Campbell – in an unfamiliar first-receiver role – and Tate McDermott failed to fire in a clunky conclusion.

What is going on….we are kicking balls to be contested by our short winger Jorgensen….Do we have rocks in our heads…did we not notice France kicking at our small winger as well….. stupid rugby. And why is Jorgensen turning up taking the ball on Dylan wing….the sooner we see the end of Joe Schmidt the better as he can't run an attacking backline to save himself.

A pity. Oz looked good for periods. But they slipped off far too many tackles. Just looking at these last few weeks, France appear to have the most complete game of all the teams on display.

They are an outstanding team. I really feel for them after being hobbled by whistle blowers last week. NZ did very well to stay in the match, and good on them for the victory. But it was hollow.

Congratulations to France and very well played to deserved winners. As a rusted on Wallabies supporter, I’m not only disappointed, but embarrassed.

I really feel for Meredith who was fed to the wolves with no real backup. Poor lad.

The refs had a shocker! Again, I’ll highlight my earlier comment, France were deserved winners.

I think that we are no longer a Tier 1 nation and I should be happy when/if we scrape a victory over Spain or Namibia.

Our forward pack played very well. Shaw found wanting and promoted way too soon.

JAS is no 13, we need to stop that experiment. Wright is too many rocks amongst the infrequent diamonds.

From one of the best first half showings in a long time to a apsolute s#*t show in the second half😡😭! I’m glad Schmidt only has 1 game to go, hopefully Wilson goes with him and a few others as well!

I think you are being incredibly harsh on Wilson. Again tonight he was one of the very few who stood up. Check his stats. Sadly, we forced in to 9 man Rugby. Well played France.
