Wales have been dealt another injury blow after Rhys Webb sustained a knee injury that will likely rule him out of the entire Six Nations.

Warren Gatland’s squad has already been decimated with Sam Warburton, Taulupe Faletau, Dan Lydiate, Jonathan Davies, Liam Williams, Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland among those on the sidelines.

And Ospreys scrum-half Webb, who has 31 Wales caps, has joined that lengthy list.

A short Wales statement released on Thursday read: “Rhys Webb has been released from the Wales National Squad due to a knee injury.

“The injury will restrict Webb’s involvement in the campaign and further assessments are required to establish the best course of action.”

Uncapped Cardiff Blues nine Tomos Williams has been added to the squad.

Wales begin their Six Nations campaign at home to Scotland on February 3.
