Thailand’s 13-player team has been announced for the first edition of HSBC SVNS 3 in Dubai.

In 2025 the side finished fifth overall in the World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series.

Across three legs, which were hosted in South Africa and Poland, the team enjoyed a fourth-place finish in Krakow.

It was their highest-finish in the tournament after they had previously taken part in the 2023 edition of the competition.

They finished the year with a win at the Asia Women’s Rugby Women’s Sevens Series.

They will begin their time in Dubai with a clash against Czechia before further Pool A matches against Mexico and South Africa.

This will be the first ever edition of HSBC SVNS 3 after the introduction of the newly formatted three-tier edition of top level rugby sevens.

The top two men’s and women’s teams at HSBC SVNS 3 will gain automatic promotion to HSBC SVNS 2, which takes place between February and March in Nairobi, Montevideo and São Paulo.

A finish in the top four after those three legs can secure teams a place at the HSBC SVNS World Championships and a shot at HSBC SVNS Series qualification.
