Handre Pollard is the latest Springbok added to Bulls' injury list
The Bulls are waiting on the results of scan to see if Handre Pollard will be available for their next United Rugby Championship fixture against the struggling Scarlets.
Pollard sustained a hamstring injury in the Bulls’ 34-26 URC victory over Ulster and his fitness will be confirmed once the results have been assessed.
Meanwhile, the URC’s third-placed team have provided updates on fellow Boks, wing/centre Canan Moodie and scrum-half Embrose Papier.
Moodie has returned to training under the Head Injury Assessment (HIA) return-to-play protocols. He will not be considered for selection this week, while Papier is recovering from an ankle operation and will be out for several weeks.
In other related injury news, the Bulls have confirmed that wing Cheswill Jooste has undergone an operation for a broken cheekbone. After suffering a head injury against Ulster, the speedster faces a mandatory two-week stand-down period under HIA protocols, and extended rest has been recommended.
Centre Sango Xamlashe will not be considered for selection this week after he completed HIA protocols following a concussion in Saturday’s match, while wing Thakir Abrahams is not expected to be sidelined with a hamsting injury for more than a week.
