Bath are pretty concerned with Taulupe Faletau's injury

Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder says a knee injury suffered by Wales forward Taulupe Faletau on Saturday does not look good.

Faletau was hurt in Bath’s European Champions Cup defeat to Toulon, prompting concern for club and country with the Six Nations just eight weeks away.

The back-row missed a chunk of last season and the start of the 2017 Six Nations due to knee ligament injuries.

“I hope it’s not the same knee as he injured last season, but it doesn’t look good,” Blackadder was quoted as saying by the BBC.

“It looked like there was a ruck, he came in from the side and Toby tweaked his medial [ligaments].”

At the very least, Faletau appears likely to miss Bath’s reverse fixture against Toulon next weekend.

Wales will be hoping Faletau can make a speedy recovery, particularly after fellow back-row forward Sam Warburton was ruled out of the Six Nations earlier this week.

Ireland couldn’t have known it would be NZ in the quarters, though? Not at that stage. The boks were Irelands 3rd pool match.

Or are you suggesting Ireland should have been overlooking Scotland? NZ overlooking Italy and Uruguay?

And lets not forget, NZ didn’t even beat Italy in the 2019 RWC.

The academy system is destroying the game. Let the players play for their club at the appropriate age grade. The academy staff need to then go outside their ivory tower and work with the club coaches.

Well obviously England have also lost 3 finals…

What coach? They didn’t have one by the end of the 2011 pool stages. It was open mutiny. France got mullered by the AB’s in the pools and then even lost to Tonga. They then abandoned their coach. The only team to lose twice and still make the knockouts - then they got to the final.

They played the best rugby of the tournament in the first 20 mins of their quarter final and utterly roasted England. They beat the form team of the tournament in the semi’s with just 9 PTS and then got robbed in the final.

They proved it isn’t a 6 week tournament. It’s a tournament of two halves.

France lost 2023 and 2019 RWC quarter finals by a single point. They were just a point behind on the scoreboard in the 2011 RWC final when the game was stolen from them (by the ref).

It’s nothing to do with how or where they spend their summers.
