Sekou Macalou Bio

Sekou Macalou is a dynamic and powerful flanker who is also capable of playing as both a number eight and a winger. A force for Stade Français in the Top 14, he’s represented France in both rugby sevens and the XV-a-side game.

Born in Sarcelles, France on 20 April 1995, Sekou Macalou is of Malian descent. He started his senior career in 2013, when he began to represent Massy. After only a couple of seasons with the club, he moved to French giants Stade Français.

Macalou has stayed with the Parisian outfit ever since, making more than 100 appearances for the club in the Top 14 and the European Rugby Champions Cup

Internationally, Sekou Macalou has represented France in both rugby sevens and the XV-a-side game. He made his sevens debut in 2013 and first appeared for Les Bleus in 2017. He was also named in his country’s Rugby World Cup squad in 2023.

Still young and with lots left to prove, we can’t wait to see what else Sekou Macalou can achieve in the game.
