Known as a powerful ball carrier, Jade Konkel-Roberts currently plays as a number eight for the Scotland women’s rugby union team and Harlequins Women. She debuted for Scotland in 2013 during the Women’s Six Nations Championship and competed at the 2021 Rugby World Cup.
Born on 9 December 1993 in Inverness, Scotland, Jade Konkel-Roberts spent her childhood on the Black Isle. Her family are all rugby enthusiasts and she played at Inverness Craig Dunain Rugby Football Club alongside her mum, dad and siblings.
As a lover of sports, Konkel-Roberts also competed in athletics and basketball. She won two gold medals in athletics when she represented Scotland with the army cadets. She was later signed to the Highland Bears basketball side, where she enjoyed two seasons.
A few years later, Konkel-Roberts moved to Glasgow to attend Glasgow Caledonian University. During this time, she made her first appearance for the national team. She then scored her first international try during the 2015 Six Nations.
Away from the international stage, Jade Konkel-Roberts has played for two clubs: Lille MRVC and Harlequins Women. She played for Lille between 2017 and 2018 before moving to Harlequins for the 2018/19 season.
