Greg Holmes made his Super rugby debut for the Queensland Reds against the Blues in 2005 and later in the year he made his Test debut for Australia versus France in Marseille. He scored his first Test try in 2006 against Ireland, running 60 metres to score, as well as playing in all of the Reds Super 14 matches. In 2007, Holmes had to have a shoulder reconstruction, meaning that he missed the whole of the Super 14 season but he was still named in the Australian squad for the Rugby World Cup in France. When not playing rugby, he enjoys freshwater fishing on his parents' potato and onion farm that is situated close to Warwick.
