Two-game USA series confirmed for Stephen Larkham's Australia A

Australia A will head to the United States for a two-game tour against the USA in late October, with the games to be played in Nashville and New Jersey.

The development team’s star-studded coaching ticket was announced two weeks ago, with Brumbies boss Stephen Larkham leading a group that includes Western Force counterpart Simon Cron and departing Wallabies head coach Joe Schmidt.

The trio will lead the Wallabies’ next-best talent into two games against the world No.16 USA team, who will host the 2031 Rugby World Cup.

The two fixtures come as double-headers, aligning with the WXV Global Series to feature alongside USA matches against Italy and world champions, England.

“USA Rugby is excited to showcase USA Eagles’ energy in new cities across the United States this October,” USA Rugby CEO Bill Goren said.

“We’re thrilled to host the WXV Global Series home games in Texas, Tennessee, and New Jersey, and welcome international powerhouses Italy and England for some exciting action.

“Furthermore, as part of two doubleheader events, the USA Men’s Eagles taking on Australia XV will add to the excitement as fans get the chance to experience top-tier rugby on US soil as we prepare for the 2031 and 2033 Rugby World Cups.”

The USA is set to face Portugal, Zimbabwe and Spain in the inaugural World Rugby Nations Cup next month.

Australia A, on the other hand, enjoyed a seismic 71-7 win over Japan XV last year, having lost to England A 38 -17 in 2024.
