Ofc we don’t know what really happened as yet.

But I will say that coaching an international team is completely different to a province or club. You’re hands on day in day out with a club but you only see the players with country for one quarter of the year.

Ashton Gate is a bit big like the Liberty stadium in Swansea. 22K capacity and never more than one third full.

Tom Wright will be there or thereabouts, but it is a stron foursome to pick from - TW plus Marky Mark, JAS and Jorgenson, with huiys like Dylan Pietsch also in the mix. I think Jorgo needs to be put under pressure to justify that big contract, so far he’s been good… in patches!

Spot on re PSdT - at 200cm and 120kg+ his power is key to their scrum success. ABs were looking to respond to this with a three lock second row. It was a work in process that had some partial success in the scrums but needed a heap more work.

Yeah for sure, it’s not something easy to prepare for. I think the team with the best record in rugby fell prey to the same drop in intensity from the QF to that Semi.

PMCD notes that the players had no excuses about being blown away. It’s not easy to understand whats going on when you’ve never experienced it before. A little why I didn’t understand why we were giving up in Wellington when only a try or two down.

My view is that DMac proved himself against Ireland in 24. BB has moments of briliance but has failed to get the best out of this team on attack and defence. And Hansen blinked.

The Razor situation appears to be more off-field related than winning percentage.

The Wallabies situation is interesting with the recruit. It is difficult to compare to Sam Burgess in England, as Australia has over 25 years of experience converting players, and within Australia, Rugby and League are closer aligned than outsiders would realise. Time will be a challenge for the player to prove he is actually good enough to become automatic at the little details, but the basics of the game are nearly identical for a 12 and an NRL forward.

I also think Boks had an easier run to the final and England would have found it very difficult to get right back up to required level after such a good performance beating us.

If you think the NH domestic competitions aren’t making money you need to do some research.

I think you are only making sense to yourself though. Whether it’s 4 million a year or over 3 years, it makes no difference to johnz point it being wasted money if he’s not used. Either are amounts that would find the coach under pressure to explain the loss of.
