This season on the HSBC SVNS Series, Spain’s Men finished seventh in the overall standings. Just 20 points ahead of bottom-placed Great Britain, Spain’s best performance came in Vancouver, where they were runners up.

It was a disappointing campaign for the team that finished the 2024/25 season third overall behind Argentina and Fiji.

Hernández’s team have been named in Pool A with Series champions South Africa, Argentina and HSBC SVNS 2 side, Uruguay.

Spain’s Women finished second overall in the standings of SVNS 2. Stops in Nairobi, Montevideo and São Paulo yielded three consecutive podium finishes as Ribera’s team proved to be the most consistent performers.

At World Championship stops in Hong Kong, Valladolid and Bordeaux, the side will be competing for Series status alongside Argentina, South Africa and Brazil.

Spain have been named in Pool C with the USA, France and Argentina for the first three day competition.
