Spain make nine changes ahead of Ireland encounter

Spain coach Juan Gonzalez Marruecos has made wholesale changes to his starting XV for their Pool C encounter with Ireland at Franklin’s Gardens on Sunday.

Lourdes Alameda captains the side from the second row and is the only forward to retain her place from the 54-8 defeat to New Zealand in York last weekend.

She lines up alongside Elena Martinez while Gemma Silva, Marieta Roman and Eider Garcia form an all-new front row. Lia Pineiro, Ana Peralta and No.8 Valentina Perez form the back row.

However there is a positional switch at half-back as Zahia Perez takes the No.10 jersey and Amalia Argudo shifts to full-back.
