On the weekend the Leicester substitute was yellow-carded for a late challenge on the Bristol number 10 in their Gallagher Premiership clash at Ashton Gate.

It was Wiese’s third this season.

A RFU statement reads: “Leicester Tigers’ Jasper Wiese appeared before an independent disciplinary panel last night (Wednesday 29 December 2021).

“Wiese received his third yellow card in a season during the match between Bristol Bears and Leicester Tigers on 26 December 2021, contrary to RFU Regulation 19. Wiese accepted the charge and has received a two-match ban.

“The case was heard by an independent disciplinary panel comprising Charles Cuthbert (chair) with John Greenwood and Ollie Clark.”
