Ospreys player ratings: Leinster ran riot at the Aviva Stadium as they dismantled Ospreys 68-14 in a one-sided URC encounter, underlining the gulf between a title contender and a side already out of the play-off race.

With nothing but pride to play for, the visitors were overwhelmed from the outset, conceding early and often as Leinster’s power, pace and precision proved far too much to handle.

Here’s how we rated the Ospreys players:

15. Jack Walsh – 5.5
A couple of decent touches in broken field and generally tried to inject himself into the game, but spent long periods pinned back by Leinster pressure and eventually disappeared from proceedings before being hooked.

14. Keelan Giles – 5
Made one dangerous looping break in the first half which helped create Sutton’s try. But defensively he struggled badly, was beaten by Jimmy O’Brien for Leinster’s third score and looked increasingly ragged once space opened up.

13. Evardi Boshoff – 4.5
Barely saw the ball in attack and was largely anonymous throughout. A difficult afternoon in a backline constantly retreating.

12. Owen Watkin – 5
Had a couple of strong carries early and briefly threatened Leinster’s midfield defence. But he also carelessly stepped into touch once in a promising position and the errors piled up as the game slipped away.

11. Iestyn Hopkins – 5.5
Could not quite stop Larmour’s early break and later found himself horribly exposed as Leinster cut loose in the second half. One particularly nasty moment came when Joe McCarthy side-stepped him en route to completing his hat-trick.

10. Dan Edwards – 6.5
Actually kicked quite well from hand for long stretches and produced a lovely touchfinder after Larmour’s charge down. But he missed five tackles and the defensive side of his game was badly exposed. Some nice attacking touches drowned out by defensive frailty, although it was hard to bemoan his try just before full-time as Ospreys had the last laugh.

9. Reuben Morgan-Williams – 4.5
Showed endeavour and kept plugging away but Leinster repeatedly targeted the base defence around him. Missed four first-half tackles alone and his poor box kick directly led to Ringrose scoring under the posts.

1. Garyn Phillips – 5.5
Started under huge pressure at scrum time but the Ospreys front row gradually fought back into the contest during the second quarter. Battled gamely despite the scoreboard carnage.

2. Efan Daniel – 5.5
Nightmare start at lineout time with crooked throws and overthrows all over the shop. To his credit he adjusted by simplifying things and throwing short. Defensively he actually battled manfully amid the chaos around him.

3. Ben Warren – 6
Part of an Ospreys scrum that initially got folded in half but eventually steadied itself somewhat. Around the field there was not much influence.

4. Rhys Davies – 6
One of the few Ospreys forwards who occasionally disrupted Leinster physically. Played his part in the build-up to Sutton’s try and worked hard defensively.

5. Huw Sutton – 7.5
One of Ospreys’ better forward carriers. Crashed over for their first try after a messy breakdown and generally carried with real venom. One of the few visitors who looked capable of matching Leinster physically.

6. James Ratti – 6
Deserves credit for helping stabilise a lineout that initially looked like it had been organised via text message five minutes before kick-off. Put himself about and worked hard.

7. Jac Morgan – 8
Gloucester-bound Jac Morgan was comfortably Ospreys’ standout player. A nuisance at the breakdown all afternoon and won an excellent penalty early in the second half. Carried hard, tackled relentlessly and was still scrapping long after many around him mentally checked out.

8. Ross Moriarty – 4.5
A rough afternoon. Stripped by Deegan near his own line for an early Leinster score and never fully recovered. Physical as always but too error-prone.

Replacements – 5.5
Ben Roberts got a debut cameo but this was largely damage limitation for the Ospreys bench. Hardy added some energy and there were isolated moments of resistance, but Leinster’s replacements completely overwhelmed them physically and tactically once the floodgates opened.
