Huw Jones set to follow Hastings out the door at Glasgow with deal done
Glasgow Warriors, Scotland, and British & Irish Lions centre Huw Jones will join Toulon at the end of the season on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old, fresh from making a try-scoring return to action at the weekend after surgery on his Achilles, is set to leave Scotstoun alongside Adam Hastings, whose move to Montpellier was announced on Monday.
Jones is in his second stint with the Warriors, having originally joined in 2017, but had a season with Harlequins between 2021 and 2022 sandwiched in between his two spells.
After a summer where the centre featured in all three Tests for the Lions as they triumphed over Australia, Jones was always going to be in high demand with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
There is still a huge amount to play for in Glasgow, with the club sitting in second place in the United Rugby Championship and with the most points so far in the Investec Champions Cup pool stages ahead of a round four clash with Saracens on Sunday.
Toulon sporting director Laurent Emmanuelli said: “The arrival of Huw Jones is the result of several months of groundwork.
“He is an international-class player, a key member of his national team, who has long played at the highest European and world levels. His rugby skills, his high standards, and his experience will be invaluable assets to the team.
“He fits perfectly into our sporting project, which combines immediate performance with the development of our young players.”
