Glasgow go top of URC as streak continues with win against Bulls
Glasgow went top of the United Rugby Championship with a 21-12 victory over Bulls.
The Warriors took the lead just five minutes into the match when Sione Tuipulotu managed to twist over the line and ground, with Adam Hastings adding the extras.
Bulls responded just six minutes later when Sebastian de Klerk burst through the home defence before offloading into Stravino Jacobs to cross, but Keagan Johannes was unable to convert.
Johannes missed a penalty towards the end of the first half, handing Glasgow a 7-5 lead at the break, but Bulls stormed ahead after the interval when Willie le Roux touched down underneath the posts and Johannes’ kick was successful.
Glasgow were reduced to 14 players in the 53rd minute when Nathan McBeth was shown a yellow card for repeated scrum penalties, but they retook the lead after being awarded a penalty try in the 65th minute and Francois Klopper was sent to the sin bin for Bulls.
Following a build-up of phases, McBeth then went over in the final 10 minutes and Hastings converted to seal a third straight URC win for Glasgow.
