Vernier beat fellow nominees Marlie Packer and Holly Atchinson of England and Wales’ Sisilia Tuipulotu in the vote by fans.

The 25-year-old scored five tries and was a key component of the France side that lost only to the Red Roses in the Grand Slam decider at Twickenham.
