France call up two uncapped players ahead of Wallaroos clash

France head coach François Ratier has included two new uncapped players in his WXV Global Series squad.

Both Sana Lagrandeur and Marion Latonnelle have joined the squad ahead of this weekend’s meeting with the Wallaroos in Aix-en-Provence.

Lock forward, Lagrandeur, has been a regular feature for FC Grenoble Amazones since making her debut several seasons ago. It is her first-ever selection for the French national team, having never even been selected at age-grade level for her country.

She joins a second row group in a state of flux with Madoussou Fall Raclot away expecting her first child. Lagrandeur will compete with Julia Grosz, Siobhan Soqeta and Cloe Correa for a spot in the match day 23.

Prop forward, Latonnelle, has been named after Rose Bernadou has left the squad due to a knee injury. Last season the 27-year-old helped Rugby Club Toulon Provence Méditerranée retain their status as an AXA Élite 1 club at the first time of asking.

There has been plenty of change to the group generally. In addition to Bernadou, Aubane Rousset has also left the squad due to injury. Chloe Jacquet, Kelly Arbey and Lili Dezou have all rejoined the France Women’s Sevens set-up. All three started against the Black Ferns.
